Well Station Drive Park & Ride Facility

The ACT Government is developing a Park and Ride Facility at the intersection of Well Station Drive and Flemington Road, providing efficient access to the Well Station Drive Light Rail Station and bus stop for residents of Harrison, Franklin and other nearby suburbs.

The Park and Ride project will deliver a parking facility encouraging the use of public transport and active travel, while also enhancing the landscaping and pedestrian network of the site and its surrounds. Key features include:

• 175 parking spaces

• 6 disabled parking spaces

• New pavement on Well Station Drive to provide access to the Park and Ride while maintaining traffic flow

• Streetlighting on the new on-road pavement, entry driveway and inside the Park and Ride

• New 2.5m wide link paths providing easy pedestrian access to the Well Station Drive Light Rail Station and Well Station Drive bus stop

• Covered bicycle shelter with bench and racks for 16 bikes

• Abundant soft landscaping incorporating deciduous trees at the Park and Ride’s entry driveway and perimeter, native trees in the median swale, native shrubs and groundcovers to green pockets of space around parking spaces, and native aquatic plants lining swales and detention pond

• Speed cushions within the Park and Ride to deter unsafe driving
