Gungahlin Town Centre East Commercial Estate

Indesco, in collaboration with Spacelab and Indesco’s landscape team was engaged by the SLA to undertake Estate Planning and Detailed Design for the development of Gungahlin Town Centre East. The site is approximately 38 Ha and forms the remaining part of the Town Centre.

We delivered a total of 6 stages of the Gungahlin Town Centre East Estate including 12 infill development blocks. The project included delivery of both civil and landscape works, including intersection upgrades on Gungahlin Place & The Valley Avenue, the intersection of Kate Crace Street & The Valley Avenue and construction of a new road and services.

In addition to road design, estate planning and earthworks, this project has focused on improving Active Travel connections within the Town Centre. High pedestrian activity areas and interaction with future light rail and public transport interchanges have been promoted in the final layout.

Indesco successfully managed the design development whilst undertaking complex coordination with Capital Metro, Capital Works and Transport Canberra. Civil works included relocation of major communication pits/conduits, street lighting, cycle paths, major retaining structure, retarding basins, open space areas as well as construction of all utilities to service the estate and new watermain Anthony Rolfe Avenue.
