Hudson Apartments - a mixed-use multi-storey development comprising of six above-ground floors and a basement in the Australian Capital Territory. We provided Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Building Hydraulics services to the project.
The client required 15-meter clear spans between columns for the commercial space, which we achieved with our post-tensioned slabs spanning between load-bearing facade precast with internal blade walls. Our in-house design for all structural elements, including post-tensioned slabs, led to an economically feasible outcome.
Our team also coordinated the high-level external podium, ensuring adequate overland flow, crack control of the slab, and buildability of the structure. We handled the stormwater drainage, stormwater reuse, sanitary drainage, hot and cold-water supply, water supply for hydrants and fire hose reels, driveways, and adjustments to the surrounding roads and on-road car parking.
The project documentation was completed in Revit, which allowed for a high level of detail and coordination of structural elements. Quantities of structural elements were available during both tendering and construction phases to ensure accurate cost control of construction.
